Upcoming as the second instalment in their brand new monthly Live Series, Constellations welcome soul-queen, Fatima and her Eglo Live Band for what will be the venue’s first garden party of the spring season.
Born in Sweden and now residing in the UK, Fatima’s career was first launched by Alexander Nut and Floating Points’ Eglo Records back in 2010. Having received album of the year in 2015 at the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards for her critically acclaimed debut LP, Yellow Memories, Fatima has since toured the world and signed on to the legendary jazz record label – Blue Note. Working with producers the likes of Floating Points and Funkineven, as well as collaborating with legendary artists including Jamie Cullum and Dâm Funk, Fatima’s melodic sound has been certified by some of the biggest names in jazz, funk and electronic music.
She comes to Constellations on 20th April complete with the highly respected – Eglo Live Band. In support will be Melodic Distraction and Madnice Selectors on the turntables, the latter of whom gave Fatima her city debut back in 2014. A second city appearance for this dominant figure in modern-soul, but importantly, a rare opportunity to see an artist of this calibre in such a unique space.
