Four By Four has crept under the radar in Liverpool over its first year of running events, attracting a close knit crowd built around word of mouth and a community committed to a love for quality sample-based productions.
The somewhat illusive and underground event prides itself on an eclectic roster of residents including Jenome; a DJ and producer for over 10 years who is quickly becoming known as a veteran on the Liverpool scene, not to mention scratch connoisseur Roguey and the events curators Impurity and Tom Braider. More recently, the Four by Four crew have linked up with a new resident in Jake D – a Liverpool head who has only recently released his own, Cycles E.P, and to ample acclaim.
After beginning their journey at Constellations, the night has now found a permanent home in the intimate surroundings of The Attic on Parr Street. This move has seen the night pick up traction, attracting a loyal crowd who build on their enjoyment with each outing. After cultivating an ever-growing growing crowd, the party’s organisers have now come together to celebrate the closing of a successful first year for Four By Four. Going all out, they have booked one of the strongest pairings of artists to emerge out of the ever-strengthening Peckham house scene, FYI Chris.
FYI Chris have built up an astounding reputation over the past year with releases on well respected and recognised contemporary labels including; Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section, S.E London’s, Church, as well as spending most of their days working in Peckham’s highly influential Rye Wax Records. The pair have appeared across a number of festivals in the last few years including Croatia’s Dimensions Festival and closer to home, Sheffield’s Tramlines as well as the ever-expanding Welsh forest festival, Gottwood. Their unique approach to dance music and set construction has fuelled nonstop dancefloor movement from start to finish time and time again.
