Dole II Soul: A Celebration of New York City Dance Culture
Written by James Zaremba on 1st December 2016
A fanfare of all things New York City, Dole II Sole looks to recreate some of that infamous Paradise Garage hedonism this Friday at Camp & Furnace.
A journey back into Warhol’s Factory, Studio 54 and maybe a bit of Mancuso’s Loft, Dole II Soul boasts a sweet line-up of “been there done that” kinda guys, and who better at a party celebrating the pivotal cultural force that was NYC in the 1970s and ’80s!
A previous Melodic Distraction guest, fine wine connoisseur and all-round legendary DJ; Pooky is undoubtedly the man for the job at any party celebrating NYC dance culture. Also in support, Dig Vinyl DJ, Mr Elliot Hutchinson, whom only recently recorded a killer mix down at Melodic Distraction HQ.
All set in the shadow of a 10ft inflatable State of Liberty, accompanied by a Salt Dog Slims hot dog stand and a signature NYC Yellow Cab, Dole II Sole promises to transport punters back in time to the dance floor of Larry Levan and co!
