FLOATING POINTS – LAST BLOOM

Written by on 28th August 2019

Ahead of the release of “Crush”, his first album in four years, Floating Points teases some of his heaviest, most propulsive music to date.

Taken from “Crush”, “Last Bloom” is a intricate mixture of skittering percussion, eerie modulating Buchla synth and Floating Points’ signature melancholic sound. The harder sound of the album was inspired by the improvisation of his shows supporting The xx in 2017, where he played “some the most obtuse and aggressive music I’ve ever made, in front of 20,000 people every night. It was liberating.”

The album promises to showcase yet another sonic dimension to the maverick artist, and is one whose release on October 18th on Ninja Tune can’t come soon enough!
