Manteq with Farhood, Tardast & BЯYN (September ’17)
Written by Nina Franklin on 18th October 2017
Manteq, founded by Farhood and Tardast, is a UK based record label giving a voice to displaced musicians wanting to communicate with their home country. Working with Middle Eastern and African artists in hip-hop, grime, R&B and beyond, Manteq is telling the story of refugees looking to change their society from the outside, whilst trying to survive in the West.
Manteq have breathed new life into Liverpool’s grime scene, packing out intimate venues like the Kazimier’s Rat Alley, as well as taking their music South to be featured on M.I.A’s Meltdown Festival earlier in the year. In this particular show, BЯYN takes us on a tour of world bassline in inimitable, ultra-agressive style, honed in the school of Cartier 4 Everyone. Farhood & Tardast MC live in the studio, showcasing some of their latest material and sneak peaks at their upcoming albums.
