See Thu Hands – Connectivity
Written by Toby Taylor on 4th August 2020
It’s a meeting of Manchester musical minds as purveyors of punk-funk See Thu Hands deliver seriously sanguine vibes on their lazer guided single “Connectivity”, which drops on vinyl & digital release via the genre hopping and all embracing label Sprechen.
A self-produced alt-pop banger from the collective which fully delivers on all things ‘disco/not disco-synth-funk-dancefloor heater’ vibes that brings to mind peak 80’s Chaka Khan partying with LCD Soundsystem & A Certain Ratio at Paisley Park.
Remixes for every occasion on this one with Skream cranking up the Italo disco-o- meter to 14 on his bass driven peak time banger for large room raving and late night open air sunrise scenarios à la Barbarellas Discothèque.
Member of Bryan Ferry’s band, Jorja Chalmers takes the party back to a smoky shebeen on her mix that evokes the vibes found on her album for Italians Do It Better and sounds like Tricky sharing a blunt with Aphex Twin whilst King Tubby twiddles the dials!
Closing off the party is Sprechen’s very own founder/CEO/tea boy, Massey who comes fresh off remixing & collaborating with A Certain Ratio. He cranks up the bass wobbling-o-meter and channels his inner ‘Murk’ to deliver a mucky tops off style gutter pumper, which belongs in those basements you’ll often find him and many like-minded souls dwelling within.
See Thru Hands – “Connectivity” is set for release on the 6th August, with a limited run of 300 vinyl with hand stamped centres, individually numbered, poster insert and locally screen printed sleeves featuring design by Tom Bevan. You can purchase it HERE.
